On Sunday, July 2, Honorary Consul Yuliy Nushev attended opening ceremony of the information plaque at Bachkovo Monastery (პეტრიწონის მონასტერი) which describes the history of the monastery starting from its founding in 1083 by Georgian Bakuriani Brothers, highlighting close historical ties between the two countries.
The festivities started with the solemn liturgy, followed by the official addresses by the Great Bishop Sioniy, Bishop Andrey & the Ambassador of Georgia Otar Berdzenishvili, opening of the exhibition "Treasure" by the National Museum of Georgia and finally, the traditional trapez or meal at the monastery.
