On April 10, Honorary Consul Yuliy Nushev accompanied Ambassador of Georgia Otar Berdzenishvili on a work trip to Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria.
Mr. Nushev welcomed H.E. Otar Berdzenishvili in Honorary Consul’s office in Blagoevgrad.
After that, they visited Mayor of Blagoevgrad Mr. Metodi Baykushev. They talked about the importance of cultural exchange and shared initiatives between Georgia and Bulgaria, more specifically cities of Blagoevgrad and Batumi that previously were twinning cities. Restoration of the twinning was also discussed.
At the end of their visit they met with the Georgian community at American University in Bulgaria (AUBG) as well as the president of AUBG Dr. Margee Ensign. The main points discussed were the increase of scholarships Georgian students at the university and more collaboration between the embassy, university and students. Mr. Nushev expressed his commitment to help bring more Georgian to study in Bulgaria.
