Georgian citizens travelling to Bulgaria

Georgian citizens holding an ordinary biometric passport may enter Bulgaria and the rest of the Schengen area without a visa and stay for up to 90 days in any 180-day period. Visa-free travel does not include the right to work.

From 6 March 2026 to 6 March 2027 the European Union has suspended visa-free travel for holders of Georgian diplomatic, service and official passports. They need to apply for a visa.

The Entry/Exit System (EES) operates at the Schengen external borders. On first entry, travellers have their personal data, fingerprints and facial image registered.

You can check your remaining days with the European Commission's short-stay calculator.
