Celebrating the Independence Day of Georgia

Georgian Feast
By the initiative of the Embassy of Georgia in the Republic of Bulgaria and with the support of Honorary consul of Georgia in the Republic of Bulgaria Yuliy Nushev, Independence Day of Georgia, 26th of May, was celebrated in Bachkovo Monastery (პეტრიწონის მონასტერი). The celebration was attended by Georgian and Bulgarian diaspora, representatives of Diplomatic Corps, the Embassy of Georgia and Honorary Consul Yuliy Nushev. The monastery was built by Georgian brother Bakuriani in 11th century and represents a symbolic place, a unique combination of Byzantine, Georgian and Bulgarian culture.

The Abbot of the Monastery Bishop Sioniy held a celebratory massfollowed by Georgian Feast on the grounds of the Monastery.As part of the celebration, The Ambassador Tamara Liluashvili presented the Icon of Jesus Christ delivered from Georgia to the Abbot of the monastery.
