Zurab Khamashuridze has been appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Republic of Bulgaria. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia announced the appointment in July 2025.
On 2 October 2025 Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Elena Shekerletova received copies of his Letters of Credence. On 17 October 2025 Ambassador Khamashuridze presented his Letters of Credence to President Rumen Radev.

Zurab Khamashuridze is a career diplomat. Before his appointment in Sofia he had served since 2024 as Ambassador of Georgia to Estonia. He has been Minister Plenipotentiary at the Embassy of Georgia to Belgium and the Mission of Georgia to the European Union, and Director of the European Integration Department at the MFA of Georgia.
The Honorary Consulate in Blagoevgrad works in cooperation with the Embassy of Georgia in Sofia and welcomes Ambassador Khamashuridze.
