On 21 May 2026 the renovated Tbilisi Garden was officially opened in Sofia’s Lozenets district. It bears the name of the Georgian capital, following the opening of a Sofia Garden in Tbilisi in March 2021.
The event was organised by the Embassy of Georgia in Bulgaria, Sofia Municipality and the Lozenets District Administration. Participants included Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Hristo Polendakov, Sofia Mayor Vasil Terziev, Ambassador of Georgia Zurab Khamashuridze and Lozenets District Mayor Dr Konstantin Pavlov.
Honorary Consul Yuliy Nushev also attended the opening. The garden is a lasting symbol of friendship and cooperation between Georgia and Bulgaria.
